Golf Clubs Woods
With traditional golf clubs, woods were made of wood;
usually persimmon. However, many players today use hybrids instead of
the traditional wood. These clubs offer more distance than does a standard
wood.
Within most sets of golf clubs, woods for the fairway are usually the
easiest clubs to hit with. They have a much larger sweet spot than your
standard irons. With a little practice, these clubs are generally quite
easy for long, straight shots.
With the average set of golf clubs, woods only account for 2-3 pieces
of the set. In general there is a 1 wood, or driver, as well as a couple
of fairway woods. The most commonly used is the driver, which is used
to tee-off.
